Thoughts Grow Trees – pt.7

Our brains were wonderfully created by God. The more mental practice of positive imagination and reflection on what you really want that is good, the stronger and healthier the trees in your brain will be at any age. The power of your mind can do so much more than you probably ever imagined.

In Genesis 11 there is a story that illustrates the power of our thoughts. The people saw in their minds a tower to build. They thought to themselves that they could build the tower all the way to heaven. God had to stop them by causing confusion and making it impossible for them to communicate, for the tower had become an idol to them. The word says, “Nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them” (Genesis 11:6, AMP). God had to stop them. Can you imagine? We all can.

Mentally rehearsing things on a daily basis is how we change what is stored in our memories from bad to good. (It works the other way also!) Healthy thoughts or toxic thoughts, whichever we rehearse the most, will be built into our minds. We choose to tear down strongholds, say of fear, by bringing it into conscious awareness and reforming it with new thought. We must replace it with healthy information, as in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
