Strongholds of the Mind

Thoughts in the mind create emotional strongholds in our brain. Thoughts carry a nature which is either good or bad. Those natures affect the condition of our heart. In which kingdom of emotional natures do you want to participate?

We can’t look to man to define our identity of who we are on the inside. The world system teaches us to do this from birth, onward. First, man doesn’t know because man didn’t create man. Second, men are listening to the same voices you have been and are deceived in the same ways. This is why we can’t possibly fight carnal nature flesh with carnal nature weapons.

We have to get a clear definition of our identity and purpose from the Lord who created us. When we do, the weapons we carry within us are mighty to the pulling down of evil strongholds. Second Corinthians 10:4 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” Love is a mighty weapon that overcomes death. Song of Solomon 8:6 says, “Set me (God) as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death.”

Be careful what you believe because belief comes out of the heart.

Acts 8:37: “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:10: “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Our hearts hold secrets. First Corinthians 14:25 says, “And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. He has hidden treasures there for us, not from us but from the enemy.” Isaiah 45:3 says, “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.”

Proverbs 4:23 says to guard our hearts: “Keep and “guard your heart” with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” Water is the spiritual representation of the word of God which He wants to reveal to us so we will use it as a weapon against our enemy. Springs of life come from our Lord and Creator. If we didn’t have an enemy that wanted our hearts, we wouldn’t have been told to guard and pay strict attention to what is happening to the condition of our hearts. Our enemy will come to the mind in our head every time with words he has taken from the Lord, distorting and twisting them into a lie to bring doubt and unbelief to our hearts.

When God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit, it is coming from the throne room of our temple—our heart. God makes our heart open to receive what He wants us to know, if we allow Him. He has planted treasures there not to keep from us but for us to discover. Acts 16:14 says, “And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshiped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.” He also enlarges the capacity of our hearts: “O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged” (2 Corinthians 6:11).

God intended for us to have congruency between our heart and mind. If this was not so, He would not have told us about both of them having the ability to have thoughts. Hebrews 8:10 says, “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws (teachings) into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” Hebrews 10:16 says the same thing in reverse to make it known that each have the same thought capabilities, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws (teachings) into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.” He intends for them to be congruent with each other.

Both the heart’s brain and the mind’s brain interact with each other either with congruency or incongruency. The results are what show up in our lives.  Our self talk is doing more to us then we see.  We need a personal transformation for our health.  This happens with how we meditate with our thoughts.
